“UÇK” graffiti on Ibar River main bridge in Mitrovica North (Radio kontakt plus)

Radio Kontakt Plus reported on Thursday that graffiti “UÇK”, “Kosovo Albania” and similar were written on the northern side of the Ibar River main bridge in Mitrovica North. The Radio added graffiti have been written in the vicinity of the bridge and on the bridge itself.

It also noted the graffiti with similar content were written on the southern side of the bridge, however it is not known when these graffiti were written.

Deputy commander of Kosovo police north region Besim Hoti told Radio kontakt plus the graffiti were spotted, police was sent to the scene and they had taken all the measures to find out who the perpetrators are.

“We will certainly open up a case regarding this. A public prosecutor will be contacted, and we will certainly launch an investigation into this”, Hoti said.

The main bridge in Mitrovica is covered with 24-hour surveillance cameras and there are KFOR and Kosovo police patrols present on the spot.
