After Albanian soldiers toured Mitrovica North couple of days ago and the announcement that several hundreds of them would be deployed to the north of Kosovo, Chairperson of the Serbian National Assembly Committee for Kosovo and Metohija Milovan Drecun said it represents an endangerment of the security of Serbian people there.
Drecun told TV Pink he has no confirmation that several hundreds of Albanian soldiers would be deployed as part of KFOR, however he did not exclude possibility of that to happen.
“I think KFOR Commander, NATO and UN are aware that would be a grave destabilization of the north and Serbs could not perceive it differently than as an additional pressure to leave Kosovo,” Drecun said, however repeating the probability of it happening is rather small.
He also disagreed with a statement of KFOR that the walk of Albanian officers in Mitrovica North was not a provocation. KFOR needs to resolve the situation. Serbs are concerned, their families and children are endangered and KFOR must prevent every provocation, Drecun concluded.
