Mustafa: Europeans should help us the same way they helped others (Indeksonline)
Isa Mustafa, leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), writes on his Facebook page today about the fight against corruption and organized crime, the establishment of the special court and the resolution of problems in the northern part of the country. “We are the most undeveloped country in this part of the world, with over 40% unemployment rate, with the lowest GDP and with great poverty. We need to find solutions for our citizens, we need to promote economic development and attract direct foreign investments. We need to work for a better future for our country, but we don’t have to ‘beat ourselves’ to prove how committed we are to European democracy and how much we can sacrifice. There can be no genuine democracy without economic development, without employment and with a high poverty rate. Europeans need to help us the same way they have helped others that have gone through these phases of transition. Meanwhile, we have to maintain our dignity and assume responsibilities to work, to build stable and democratic institutions and to open a development perspective,” Mustafa writes.
