Rakic has made another act that challenges central government (Radio Kosova)
The head of Mitrovica North, Goran Rakic continues to disobey Ministry of Local Governance. The latest announcement of Ministry of Self Governance that placing of a barricade violates Constitution, five laws and two international agreements, for Rakic this “is not valid.”
In a telephone conversation, Goran Rakic said that barricade is “a topic of talks in Brussels.” Meanwhile in the address of ministry of Self Governance has arrived another request of municipality of Mitrovica North. It is the request of the last week decision of this municipality that the part from the bridge to Bosniak Mahalla and 7 September to be declared “pedestrian area.”
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Self Governance, Besnik Osmani, said that they have not received any answer from Rakic. He also denied to have received any request for interpretation.
This decision that has been interpreted as another judicial barricade needs the approval from Ministry of Self Governance. Besnik Osmani did not give an answer if it will be legally accepted that this perimeter from the bridge to the Bosniak Mahalla to remain pedestrian area.
However, it looks like that the announced pedestrian area from the Municipality of Mitrovica North will be another clash point between local and central governance.
