Pacolli: Accord on vehicle insurance was misunderstood (Indeksonline)
The head of the Kosovo delegation in Pristina – Belgrade talks for vehicle insurance policies, Rrahim Pacolli, said today that there has been a misunderstanding by the public opinion regarding this issue. “The TPL+ insurance policy covers damages to third parties outside the territory of Kosovo in FYROM, Albania and/or Serbia. Our statistics show that a large proportion of insured persons already have TPL+, which means that even before the agreement with Serbia, it has been mandatory to have TPL+ to travel to neighboring states such as. FYROM. So, the insured persons who already have TPL+ do not need to pay extra costs about car insurance to enter Serbia, as the same policy covers the territory of Serbia as well,” Pacolli said.
Media reported today that the agreement that was reached between Kosovo and Serbia for the mutual recognition of vehicle insurance goes in favor of Serbia’s citizens, because the vehicles with Serbian license plates will pay nothing when entering Kosovo, while vehicles with Kosovo license plates will have to pay 40 euros for the TPL+ insurance policy, buy the temporary license plates and an additional municipal tax.
