Mustafa calls on opposition parties to return to Assembly (all media)
Kosovo Prime Minister Isa Mustafa during a press conference today called on the opposition leaders to return to the Assembly and to solve problems through dialogue. He said violent acts and teargas are unacceptable. Mustafa urged the opposition to wait for the decision of the Constitutional Court on the agreement on Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities. “I invite the opposition to come to the Assembly and to discuss and solve issues together. Opposition parties are using violence to achieve political objectives,” Mustafa said. "The establishment of the Association of Serb-majority municipalities is not my personal will, but it is an issue deriving from the law that was adopted in 2013 with the majority of the votes in the Assembly. None of us, neither the government nor the opposition can take the role of the Constitutional Court. I am ready to implement the Court’s decision on the agreement on Association,” he added. Mustafa also said that he requested support from the European Union in regards to the border demarcation with Montenegro. "Kosovo government is determined, despite the difficulties, to lead Kosovo towards EU integration. The government is and will be open for the opposition,” Mustafa further noted. In regards to visa liberalization, Mustafa said that Kosovo has already fulfilled all the criteria and that the EU should recommend visa liberalization for the people of Kosovo in 2016.
