The Minister of the European Integration, Bekim Collaku, hosted a senior official delegation of the Republic of Malta today, led by the Minister of the Foreign Affairs, George Vella.

The parties concluded that the relations between Kosovo and Malta are strong and discussed the bilateral cooperation on Kosovo’s European agenda. Minister Collaku informed Minister Vella about Kosovo's progress in fulfilling the European criteria. Speaking about visa liberalization, Collaku said that “Kosovo has fulfilled all criteria for this process and it is now awaiting the confirmation that will open the way for our citizens to travel without visas in the Schengen zone. We are ready and we have worked hard during this process,” Collaku said. He also informed the Maltese delegation Kosovo institutions preparing to implement the Stabilization Association Agreement.

Chief of Maltese diplomacy, Geroge Vella, reiterated his country's position of support of Kosovo’s European agenda, especially on the issue of visa liberalization. He also expressed his readiness to support Kosovo when Malta takes over the European Union presidency in January 2017.
