Caffier: Kosovo needs to become INTERPOL member (RTKlive)

The Interior Minister of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Federal Republic of Germany, Lorenz Caffier, promised Germany’s engagement in Kosovo’s INTERPOL and EUROPOL membership. He made these comments after a meeting with Kosovo’s Minister of Interior, Skender Hyseni, during which they discussed the repatriation of Kosovo emigrants. Minister Caffier said that Kosovo has continuously supported Germany on repatriation. “Now repatriation will depend on the work of the Federal Office for migration in Germany. The Kosovar party promised also today, during the meeting that it will engage and cooperate on the process of repatriation…another important issue for the Republic of Kosovo, is internal security. This of course requires INTERPOL and EUROPOL membership that we would welcome. This of course creates both interstate mechanisms to combat criminal and negative phenomenons. I want to stress that we in Europe should cooperate and fight these phenomenons as one because crime does not recognize borders and we need interstate mechanisms,” Caffier said.
