Serbian List not interested on demarcation, only on Association (Zeri)
Leaders of the Serbian List do not consider their participation at the Assembly session on demarcation of the border with Montenegro necessary. They claim that if there is a consensus among the Albanian political parties, endorsement of this agreement would not depend on the votes of Serb MPs.
“The demarcation issue is complex and consensus has not been reached yet among the two major Albanian parties, PDK and LDK, so Kosovo’s direction for the future is under a question mark,” said Slavko Simic, from the Serbian List.
He said that the main focus of his party is establishment of the Association of the Serb-majority Municipalities. “Especially due to the fact that we want to start making important decisions for the Serb community and Kosovo society in general,” he said. He added that the Association should establish based on Brussels agreement and not on the limitations of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo.
Deputy President of the Assembly of Kosovo, Xhavit Haliti, also said that the governing coalition is not certain about the votes of the Serbian List. “I cannot speak with competency about this issue, because I have not seen the statements of the political party MPs. To me, nothing is certain because the Serbian List has not announced if it is going to return to the Assembly or not, even though the discussions are ongoing,” Haliti said.
