Haradinaj: New chapter of cooperation with the U.S. confirmed (RTK)

The Prime Minister of Kosovo Ramush Haradinaj, said today at the Millennium Challenge in Kosovo conference, that a new chapter of cooperation with the United States of America is being confirmed. Speaking about this foundation, Haradinaj said it is important Kosovo gains aid from the U.S., and pledged to fight corruption and organized crime in order for Kosovo to profit more of this kind of financial aids. Haradinaj expressed appreciation to President Hashim Thaci, former President Atifete Jahjaga as well as former Prime Minister Isa Mustafa, for their contribution on this foundation. Collen Hyland, Deputy Ambassador at the U.S. Embassy in Kosovo, said that MCC director has worked hard for this foundation. We are all optimistic and proud to remembering that without our cooperation there would be no impact in Kosovo. We expect for this foundation not to wait but to start with its work as soon as possible,” she said. The U.S. Congressman Eliot Engel, stressed that he is welcomed each time he visits Kosovo and that Kosovo is a great friend of the U.S. He said that it is important for Serbia and Kosovo to become part of the EU and added that the U.S. needs to be involved in the dialogue. “I know that Kosovo is still not a member of the UN, due to the troubles caused by Serbia and Russia, and Kosovo lost membership at UNESCO because of Serbia. If Serbia wants to be part of this family, it should not undermine works of another state because it is not fair to block Kosovo,” Engel said. Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Behgjet Pacolli, expressed on behalf of Kosovo appreciation to Eliot Engel and Jonathan Nash for the great support of Kosovo in many fields. He said that Kosovo government remains committed and will continue to cooperate closely in the future. He added that the government is working to create new jobs and for economic development of Kosovo.
