Djuric visited displaced in Hotel Junior in Štrpce/Shtërpcë (Blic)
The Director of the Serbia’s government Office for Kosovo said to yesterday to displaced persons sheltered in Hotel Junior in Štrpce/Shtërpcë that state has a duty to be with them and that ‘as long as there is state of Serbia they won’t remain homeless and without a bread in the plate’.
Few days ago Kosovo Privatization Agency (KPA) took over the management over the Hotel and deployed its security guards.
Djuric said that those who decided so obviously have no empathies toward those who lost their own properties and suffered a lot during the conflict, but that Serbia will stand with them.
Few days ago Office for Kosovo reported that, according to their information, KPA earlier brought a decision on liquidation of the Hotel Junior and that KPA is planning to sell the hotel.
Hotel is now used as a collective shelter-center for families displaced in 1999, whereas the owner of the hotel is Serbia’s Republic Fund for Pension and Disability Insurance. As of 2001 the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration of Serbia is in charge for providing care, shelter and food to displaced persons sheltered in this hotel.
Currently, there are 85 individuals sheltered in the hotel, who were expelled from Uroševac/Ferizaj and Prizren, who are now faced with humanitarian catastrophe.
