The National Council for the Survivors of Sexual Violence during the conflict in Kosovo, founded and headed by the President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, held a meeting of the working group on economic empowerment of the survivors of sexual violence.

At this meeting it was discussed about the possibility of providing mitigating measures of support and inclusion of this sensitive category in the schemes, programs and instruments offered by the institutions which in their mandate have the empowerment of the economic sector. Of particular importance was considered the need to continue the development of the inter-sector collaborative and coordinating plan between the public institutions, international organizations and non-governmental organizations. The economic empowerment of this category was considered essential, part of the reparation process to guarantee rehabilitation, reintegration and re-socialization of the survivors of sexual violence. .
