Berisha: Infant’s death in Gjakova shows government's negligence (Kosova Sot)
Kosovo Assembly MP and representative of the Egyptian community in Kosovo, Veton Berisha, issued a press statement yesterday saying he was very concerned about the death of three-month-old baby in Gjakove/Djakovica. Berisha said, “Kosovo society is not in good condition now that we have reached a point where our infants die from cold and hunger.” He also raised the question as to why the Egyptian community is so discriminated and ignored by the government of Kosovo. "How is it that this country does not support the Egyptian community that has contributed so much to Kosovo, whereas it supports so many others that were enemies of the country,” reads the statement. With this statement, Berisha calls on all relevant institutions to treat the Egyptian community and other communities equally. “We don’t need strategic documents for integration of minorities that only for international promotion. I call on everyone to support our community and help us live with dignity because we deserve it is what we deserve,” Berisha concludes.
