Opposition adventure (Kosova Sot)
The front page editorial of this daily considers that political parties which lost these elections rushed to reach an agreement to lead the country, prior to the publication of final election results. According to this daily, this is a ridiculous and dangerous step for the Kosovo. “Vetëvendosjhe movement, with its single intention of sabotaging the discussions of the winning party with potential partners, has forgotten its serious accusations on the address of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and the Initiative, and promised its votes if they agree to create the government.
This editorial insists that the Constitution stresses clearly that only the winning party or coalition can create the Government. Nevertheless, continues Kosova Sot, the Constitutional Court, as the competent authority for interpretation of the Constitution, should say it’s the final word on this case, because if parties continue to make unnecessary obstructions, the country could be lead towards extraordinary elections. Parties should be waiting for the final results and then negotiate with the winning one. “Kosovars voted for PDK to lead the country for another mandate and some might not like this verdict, however the Constitution should be respected by everyone,” concludes this daily.
