United in loss (Tribuna)

Armand Shkullaku remarks that the excellent process of 8 June elections has been covered by the shadows of the unknown. The main reason for this tensioned situation is the effort of some opposition parties to proclaim the other side, voted by 215 thousand Kosovars, an enemy. Using the excluding category to justify los, leads towards an unavoidable conflict. Unification of the losers could lead to a victory at the table, however they do not have any right to nominate this as a divine will to rescue Kosovo from evil. More than a rescue for Kosovo, their unification is leading each moment to a revenge, often with racist tones, even though it is well known where could all this lead. It resembles more on an exploded rage than a released breathing, writes Shkullaku. He adds that this group has caught the possibility of covering their personal shame by cursing the others.

There is no doubt that LDK, AAK, Initiative or any other party has the right to reach any political agreement to take over the government, however they should not sell this as Kosovo’s rescue from Hashim Thaçi. He stresses that LDK leader Isa Mustafa lost two elections within six months. AAK did not manage to reach a result with two figures even though the campaign was led by its leader Ramush Haradinaj. Therefore selling the los as a victory can only provoke the other part of electorate and induce unnecessary conflict. It is clear that these parties did not come together due to the need for changes but as a consequence of a failure.

If these two leaders admitted their los with a loud voice and head down, and then stated that they would undertake anything not to allow Thaçi to create the government, the danger of a political conflict would have been smaller. Triumphalist, denigrating and excluding behavior does not rule out Thaçi’s direct victory. They were not able to bring him down on behalf of changes, they did not gain the trust of the citizen. Eliminating this truth on behalf of fake enthusiasm of removing a major evil is simply a pain killer but not an intervention that would remove the disease.

Tendency to cover the loss and failure by transforming it into a victory of a battle risks producing new battles. They are the least that can determine a major or lesser evil. That determination is made by the vote of the citizens, concludes Shkullaku.
