Vucic with Soros on civil society and Kosovo issue (B92, Tanjug)
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with the Deputy Chair of the Open Society Foundation, Alexander Soros, Serbian media reported.
Vucic and Soros discussed about the ways on how civil society and Soros’s organization can help strengthen peace and stability in the region.
President Vucic informed representatives of the Open Society Foundation about the course of the Belgrade-Pristina negotiations, and highlighted that advancement of the relations is very important to maintain stability in the Western Balkans.
He also thanked the Foundation for analysis of Serbia’s development, Press Office of the Serbian President said in a press statement.
Alexander Soros said that Balkans and Europe need resolution of the Kosovo issue that is sustainable and contributes to the peace and stability.
He also emphasised that the support of the civil societies, both in Belgrade and Pristina is needed in finding a compromise. He informed the Serbian President that the Open Society Foundation established a fund to support small businesses, owned by members of the Roma community, Serbian media reported.
