Selakovic: Gratitude to Russia for naming things with the real name (RTS)
Secretary General of the Serbian President, Nikola Selakovic, thanked Moscow for the readiness to "call things with the real name", and on the Russian Foreign Ministry's condemnation of the passive behaviour of international forces in Kosovo.
Selakovic told the morning RTS News that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has accustomed public to regular meetings with the highest international officials, which before was not the case, adding that it is rare among other Western Balkan leaders.
Selakovic stresses that the situation in the region ''has grown hotter'' and that it is never peaceful in the Balkans.
"Not only because of the referendum in Macedonia, the upcoming elections in BiH, but also the incursion of the Albanian special forces and the politics of long-pipes in the north of Kosovo," says Selakovic to Radio Television of Serbia (RTS), commenting on today's meeting between Russian President Putin and the Serbian Vucic.
"It is just as Ms. Maria Zakharova pointed out, stating the position of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, for which we owe gratitude to her and Minister Lavrov, and Putin, because, if nothing else, they are ready to call things with their real name," stresses Selakovic.
Selakovic says that it is hypocritical that on the other hand the European Commission calls on the two sides to calm tensions.
Selakovic expects the continuation of Moscow's support for Belgrade's policy and President Vucic, as it was the case so far.
