Danas: Matthew Palmer will take over the mediation mission of Belgrade and Pristina (Danas, B92, RTK2, Dnevnik)
Belgrade based daily Danas learns that Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Matthew Palmer should be included in the "mediation mission " of Belgrade and Pristina.
He should take over one of the key roles in future negotiations of the two sides, Danas learns.
This daily, referring to diplomatic sources in the West, reports that it is not yet determined who will be the main negotiator of the United States at the next stage of the negotiations, which would, as said, be the final one when it comes resolving the Kosovo issue, but that Palmer will have one of the most important roles.
At the same time the daily reminds of the statement of this State Department official, when, while visiting RTS in October, he said that in terms of Kosovo "there are no blank checks or red lines," and that Belgrade-Pristina agreement should be reached as soon as possible.
"What we would like to achieve is a full normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina, and that is a complex challenge," said Palmer.
