President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic held a conference last night at the Palace of Serbia declaring the Serbian List victory in Kosovo’s elections on Sunday 6 October. Danas: Talks on Kosovo in the future in ‘troika’ form

Negotiations on Kosovo in the future "likely to be in troika form" in Brussels, diplomats from EU headquarters told Belgrade based daily Danas.

As they explain, this implies that "in addition to representatives of Belgrade and Pristina, the United States Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Matthew Palmer, the EU Special Envoy for those negotiations, and one of the OSCE-like representatives would be found at the negotiating table."

Reactions of US and Russian ambassador to Belgrade on the Quint statement (Serbian media)

US Ambassador to Belgrade Kyle Scott twitted that it was time to put an end to the conflicts of the 1990s and called on Belgrade and Pristina to resume dialogue as soon as possible, Serbian media reports.

"It is time to put an end to the conflicts of the 90s. I urge Kosovo and Serbia to reopen the EU-sponsored dialogue as soon as possible and to refrain from taking steps that hinder an agreement," Scott wrote on Twitter, sharing also yesterday's joint statement by the Quint countries.

Blic: Kosovo scenario ready, if a Paris meeting happens (Serbian media)

Belgrade based daily Blic writes today that framework could be formulated for resolving the Kosovo problem at the meeting of the region's leaders with Angela Merkel and Emmanuel Macron in Paris on July 1.

According to the daily, the final proposal should be harmonized by the end of the year.

If such a scenario comes up, Blic writes, a referendum on Kosovo could be held together with regular parliamentary elections in the spring of next year.

Blagojevic: The Kosovo problem and the elections as joint vessels (N1)

Correspondent of the Belgrade based news agency Beta from Brussels, Dragan Blagojevic told N1 that the international dimension of the Kosovo problem is reflected in the internal plan - elections.

"Obviously, this is double-tied, as merged vessels. I see the postponement of the decision on elections in function, among other things, not only of internal politics, but it is obvious that Kosovo had a specific weight," Blagojevic says.

Kommersant: Deadline for dialogue the end of April, Dacic to harmonize position with Moscow (B92)

Belgrade count on coordinating position with Moscow on the Kosovo issue, reports B92, quoting Moscow daily Kommersant.

The Russian daily devoted an article to the announced visit of Foreign Minister of Serbia Ivica Dacic to Russia.

The daily says that during today's talks between Dacic and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, the main topic of the talks will be Kosovo, because the fate of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina should be clarified by the end of April.

Munter: Solution for Kosovo cannot be dictated from aside (RTS)  

Former US Ambassador to Serbia and Chair of the East-West Institute Cameron Munter opined that solution to the Kosovo issue can not be “dictated from aside” but it must be an outcome of an agreement by Belgrade and Pristina, RTS reported. Munter added it depends upon Belgrade and Pristina only when would the negotiations continue, which he deemed crucial for the better future of citizens in Serbia and Kosovo.

The head of the European Union Delegation to Serbia Sem Fabrizi did not want to comment the views of "other parties", even the stance of the US on Kosovo, he just reiterated that Brussels was committed to reaching an agreement that will be legally binding, with full normalization of relations, reports Belgrade based daily Blic.

He said, when asked to comment on a recent statement by US State Undersecretary for Political Affairs David Hale "that the US position is a mutually sustainable recognition of Kosovo and Serbia ".

Opposition leader slams President Vucic over Belgrade-Pristina talks (N1, Danas)

Anyone who feels shame would either resign or withdraw from the talks on Kosovo which deteriorated the status of Serbia, opposition leader Dragan Djilas said in a letter he sent to President Aleksandar Vucic, suggesting that the talks should involve someone “more intelligent, capable and fair.”
