Chepurin: Russia sees what kind of pressure is exerted upon Serbia (Tanjug)

Regularity of Russian and Serbian presidents’ meetings indicates good relations between the two countries, Russian Ambassador to Serbia Alexander Chepurin told Tanjug news agency.

In addition to bilateral topics, the two officials would also discuss geopolitical matters, Ambassador Chepurin noted, adding that the situation in the world is getting complicated. The two presidents would also discuss the situation in the Balkans region.

“Vladimir Vladimirovic said many times we are against creating rivalry in the region, but efforts should be made to make it a region of cooperation. We are against saying “either this or that”. I think it is quite possible for this region to cooperate with the West, Russia and the East,” Ambassador Chepurin said.

“One of the topics would be resolving the Kosovo issue. We see what kind of pressure is exerted upon Serbian in relation to this issue. That is why the issue of Kosovo would certainly be a very important topic,” Ambassador Chepurin underlined.
