Serbian president prepares to meet with Russian counterpart (Tanjug, B92)

President Aleksandar Vucic and Russian Ambassador Alexander Chepurin discussed on Tuesday the organization of Vucic's meeting with President Vladimir Putin. Vucic and Vladimir Putin are scheduled to meet in Beijing during the Belt and Road forum. Vucic said today that he is honored to be meeting again with Putin. He said that this would be their 16th meeting, the second this year, and that he will be pleased to talk with the president of Russia about bilateral cooperation in all areas, as well as the situation in the region, the president’s press office has announced. Speaking about the situation in the region, Vucic reiterated that the continuation of dialogue with Pristina is impossible until the tariffs on Serbian goods are abolished. Vucic and Chepurin discussed the activities for further improvement of bilateral cooperation and agreed meetings of Serbian and Russian officials. Two interlocutors also discussed energy cooperation and plans for the construction of the TurkStream gas pipeline, which would enable regular and orderly gas supplies to Serbia, the statement said.
