Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic received the Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, Audrey Azula, and discussed opportunities for more meaningful co-operation and the protection of Serbia's heritage in Kosovo, reports Radio Television of Serbia (RTS).

Vucic said that Serbia appreciates UNESCO's activities in protecting the endangered Serbian historical, cultural and religious heritage in Kosovo, as it is a heritage of the whole world, the Press Office of the President of the Republic reported.

Vucic supported the efforts of Director-General Audrey Azyla to preserve the core values on which UNESCO's work was based and to prevent the politicization of that organization.

The President supported various UNESCO programs in all areas covered by the organization, and in particular in the field of education.

The two interlocutors agreed that it is important to prevent the negative impact of modern technologies on the education of young generations.

Director-General Audrey Azyle said that Serbia, as a member of the Executive Council, was a great support to its efforts to reform UNESCO.
