Fajon expects to chair Co-operation Committee with Serbia (Tanjug, RTS)

MEP Tanja Fajon says she will continue to deal with Serbia in the new parliament.

"I expect to continue to deal with Serbia as chair of the Serbian-European Parliament Relations Committee," Fajon told Tanjug.

Fajon says that at the level of the political groups in the European Parliament there is no final agreement on the division of the rapporteur's place for Serbia and other countries in the EU accession process, but that she expects the rapporteur for Serbia to come from the largest and most powerful political group, the European People's Party.

According to unofficial information, the position held over the past five years by David McAllister could now be taken by Slovakia's deputy Vladimir Bilcik, who is also part of the European People's Party.

The Bilcik's cabinet say to Belgrade based agency Tanjug that appointment may be expected tomorrow, but they do not have confirmation of the final selection.
