International administration to be blamed (B92)

Milivoje Mihajlovic stated that international administration, which is administering Kosovo and Metohija, is the main one to be blamed for the crime in Gorazdevac.
The director of the Serbian government’s Media Office said that almost for all crimes, which led to ethnic cleansing in Metohija and good portion of Kosovo, so far there were neither responsible ones nor the court proceedings, and that the main one to be blamed is the oversized and corrupt international administration. He said in the morning TV Pink program that the goal is ethnic cleansing and that investigation has been launched several times so far for that crime without any results.

Today will be marked 11 years after unknown persons opened a fire from automatic weapon on Serb children in Gorazdevac who were bathing in Bistrica River. Pantelija Dakic (12) and Ivan Jovovic (19) were killed, whereas Bogdan Bukumiric (14), Marko Bogicevic (12), Dragan Srbljak (13) and Djordje Ugrenovic (20) sustained heavy bodily injuries.

He also reflected on the indictment raised against Olvier Ivanovic and said that the full content of indictment will be known very soon.

Ivanovic is charged for being a commander of a police unit during Kosovo conflict, whereas in the second part of indictment he is charged for several murders which took place in northern part of Mitrovica in 2000, said Mihajlovic.

“With regard to the first part of indictment, I am sure that his lawyers will have an easy job,” said Mihajlovic and added that it is about a political process and political imputation aiming at eliminating Ivanovic from the political scene, and assessed that Ivanovic is not a person who would commit a crime.

With regard to Williamson’s report on Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) crimes in Kosovo Mihajlovic voiced expectation that crimes will be processed. Mihajlovic said to TV Pink that it is about the UN legislation referring to the creation of the court, whose unit will be in the premises of the current Hague Tribunal. He went on to say that the light will be shed on crimes finally, however only after 15 years and after many evidence and witnessed have been removed in the meantime.

Mihajlovic quoted that as the very reason for being afraid that the court will have a difficult job, and added that Serbia’s prosecutor’s office is ready to assist in each of those cases.

He assessed that the biggest task on the part of international community, that is international administration in Kosovo, this time will be to protect witnesses, whereas we are ‘left to believe that the court will deliver justice’.

Speaking about the implementation of Brussels agreement Mihajlovic highlighted that the dialogue will for sure continue if the government in Pristina is formed soon. He added that there are unfinished matters in that area and that things are accomplished on the side of the Serbian government and Serbian institutions, while Serbia is ready to continue the dialogue, since that is the only way leading to just solution and reconciliation of Serbs and Albanians in the Balkans.

When asked about Brussels 2 which was mentioned by certain analysts in Pristina, Mihajlovic said that it is about ‘classic spinning’, because Pristina is not satisfied with thus far flow of the Brussels dialogue and underlined that it is about illusion that such new dialogue could eventually lead to Serbia’s recognition of independent Kosovo.  He added that the Serbian government was right when it called Serbs to participate in local and parliamentary elections in Kosovo with the single list and to be the united force in the Kosovo parliament.
