Djuric: Tensions in Mitrovica a topic in Brussels (TV Most)
Situation in Mitrovica and the manner in which justice is carried out will be the most important topic of the talks in Brussels, said today Director of the office for KiM, Marko Djuric.
"The main topic of discussions will be the situation in Kosovska Mitrovica, where there are still tensions due to the bridge events. The representatives of extremist groups cannot place their monuments, as is the Adem Jashari monument in the core of Serbs," said Djuric to the TV Pink the day before travel to Brussels.
Djuric will also discuss with the representatives of Pristina and EU High representative Catherine Ashton formation of Community of Serbian municipalities and property issue.
"Potential problems exist, Pristina sees the Brussels agreement only through the prism of the currently valid, its laws. They have shown almost no flexibility for the change of their laws, and there are laws that they will have to amend in accordance to the agreement, such as the Law on Local Self-Government", said Djuric.
He assessed that in Kosovo justice towards Serbs is "carried enclosed in quotation marks" and said that it clearly shows an example of the Civic Initiative SDP leader Oliver Ivanovic, "who is for six months in custody on the justice of God", without indictment.
Djuric again pointed out the importance of the participation of Serbs in the government of Kosovo, and he gave as a good example constituent session of the Assembly of Kosovo, chaired by the Serbian List MP Milka Vulovic.
He emphasized that Serbia sought support from the representatives of UNMIK to begin economic development projects that aim to "solve the high unemployment of our people in the entire territory of Kosovo and Metohija."
"The youth unemployment rate is over 60 per cent, which is not permissible for us," added Djuric.
