Vachter, Zbogar discuss security with Serb officials (Tanjug)
MITROVICA - EULEX Acting Head of Mission Joelle Vachter and Head of the EU Office in Kosovo Samuel Zbogar talked in northern Mitrovica on Tuesday with political representatives of north Kosovo Serbs about the security of citizens and the rule of law.
During the meeting, the officials discussed “issues of mutual concern regarding security of citizens and the rule of law in northern Kosovo”, EULEX has stated in a release.
"EULEX is part of the larger EU family in Kosovo and represents a key plank of the EU's overall comprehensive policy here,” Vachter said.
In the meeting, Zbogar expressed the EU Office's full support to EULEX in carrying out its mandate in northern Kosovo.
He underscored that improvements in the rule of law will lead to improvements in the quality of life for all citizens in Kosovo and contribute positively to Kosovo's European future.
Zbogar and Vachter talked with the mayors of northern Mitrovica, Leposavic and Zvecan, municipal presidents of Zubin Potok and northern Mitrovica, as well as the coordinator of the management team for establishment of a community of Serb municipalities.
