Janjic: Request of the Self-Determination movement is marketing ploy (Blic)
Analyst Dusan Janjic said that the request of the Albanian opposition party Self-determination, on the termination of the dialogue with Belgrade, is unrealistic.
Representatives of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) agreed in Pristina to propose the leader of the Alliance, Ramush Haradinaj for the position of the Prime Minister. Consequently, former Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, which won the most votes in the election, will not be the PM, for the third time.
Self-Determination leader Albin Kurti said that the movement will not join the government but will support the opposition bloc, if they meet the requirement related to the negotiations with Serbia and stop the implementation of all agreements. "Self-determination sets impossible conditions, because the representatives of the LDK and AAK supported the negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina, and they participated at political and expert level," said Janjic.
Janjic said that Self-determination plays the only possible game. With the position that it will support Haradinaj the movement tries to continue the campaign and promote the idea of a "Great Albania". According to Janjic, election of Haradinaj would not be a surprise, because it was also discussed with Hashim Thaci, who could eventually become the President of Kosovo. "In this case, it would represent a strong majority for the implementation of the Brussels Agreement and the fight against corruption," said Janjic.
Objectively, they don’t need Serbs for forming the government, though I expect that minorities will enter the government together with the Progressive Democratic Party of Nenad Rasic, who won probably one of the ten seats, guaranteed for the Serbian community, Janjic said. According to him, it is certain that in new government, Serbian community will have less ministerial and other positions compared to the previous government, because their participation was necessary for the formation of previous government.
