Hodzic: Rakic acting as head of Administrative Office (Tanjug)
The Administrative Office for Northern Mitrovica will be integrated into new municipal administration set up after the previous local elections, Office Head Adrijana Hodzic stated.
“The Administrative Office is the cornerstone for the future municipality of Northern Mitrovica. There is a system, there is staff and all employees will be transferred to the municipality of Northern Mitrovica,” Hodzic said in a programme 'Slobodno Srpski' (Speak Serbian freely) broadcast by the Serb TV network in Kosovo-Metohija.
The Administrative Office for Northern Mitrovica was established by the Kosovo government on May 23, 2012 and up until now, it operated within the Ministry of Local Self-Government.
In northern Mitrovica, the Office is the only body of the Pristina government and it was met with distrust of the local Serbs since the very beginning.
Hodzic noted that Mayor Rakic is at this moment acting as the head of the Administrative Office for Northern Mitrovica.
As Hodzic said, after the local elections, the decisions in the Administrative Office for Northern Mitrovica are no longer adopted by herself and the office management and instead, the Office has been working in cooperation with Mayor Rakic.
In case relevant political figures manage to achieve an agreement, the seat of the Northern Mitrovica municipality will be transferred to the premises of the Administrative Office for Northern Mitrovica in the coming weeks or months, Hodzic said.
