Two injured in incident in Kosovska Mitrovica neighbourhood (Dailies)
Two people suffered minor injuries in an incident that took place in northern Kosovska Mitrovica's Brdjani neighbourhood on Wednesday.
Two men - an ethnic Albanian and a Serb - were lightly injured in an incident that involved another Serb man, regional Kosovo police chief Zeljko Bojic said.
In a statement to the local Kontakt Plus radio, he said that a window on an excavator operated by an ethnic Albanian was broken in the incident.
The relevant prosecutor's office categorised the cases as criminal destruction of movable property and inflicting light bodily harm, Bojic said.
An ethnic Albanian identified two Serbs, who were taken to the police station, Bojic said.
After the incident, a group of ethnic Albanians blocked the road from Brdjani to Suvi Dol, demanding that they be enabled to continue house construction works in Brdjani on Thursday.
The local Serbs have nothing against houses being built for local ethnic Albanians, but oppose the idea of others moving to the neighbourhood, which they see as a planned attempt to change the ethnic composition of the village and as a threat to their safety.
