No investment in Brezovica without deal with real owners (Tanjug)

BELGRADE - Serbia is not against investing in the new resort on Brezovica, but investors must first strike a deal with the real owners of the property on that mountain, head of the Serbian government office for Kosovo Marko Dy pjuric said on Tuesday.

"The adoption of anroject involving illegal and forcible expropriation of land or change in the ethnic and employee structure is unacceptable to Serbia and the Serbian people in Kosovo," he told reporters in Belgrade.

According to statements from Pristina, the Kosovo government and the French consortium MDP Consulting - Compagnie des Alpes should sign a contract for a project concerning the development of a resort on Brezovica worth EUR 409 million. Djuric underscored that Ineks Intereksport, that is the government company Skijalista Srbije, owned the property on Brezovica, and that the hotel Molika and two ski tracks had been rebuilt over recent years thanks to investments from the Serbian government.

The unresolved status of the property deters foreign investors, Djuric pointed out, stressing that it would be in Pristina's interest to avoid one-sided actions, but to find a common language with the Serbian government and Serbs in Kosovo regarding the Brezovica resort.
