The Mayor of North Mitrovica, Goran Rakic, yesterday protested in Brussels due to the violation of already reached agreement, in the eve of the new round of the Brussels dialogue. Rakic criticized the decision of local Albanians to resume the construction works in the suburb Brdjani in North Mitrovica, until the issue of the return of displaced persons to that suburb is not settled.

 “Despite all reached agreements, on the very day of negotiations at the highest level in Brussels about most important issues of Mitrovica, a caterpillar has been brought to the North, which is clearing the ground, just next to the road where pedestrians are passing by,” said Rakic, and added that such motion presents the most blatant provocation.

 He reminded on the decision brought by the Directorate for Public Services, Infrastructure and investments and the Inspectorate of North Mitrovica on immediate cessation of works on houses construction in Brdjani, which is in force as of December 2014.
