Far away from solution for energy in Kosovo (Politika)
Kosovo side is still silent with regard to Serbia’s request for registration of the electricity supply company ‘Elektrodistribucija’ North – Zubin Potok.
Serbian side will need time and patience in order to reach agreement over energy issues in Kosovo and Metohija. Negotiators in this area are most distant from reaching any agreement, Belgrade-based daily Politka learned in the Serbian Government’s Office for Kosovo and Metohija.
Energy issue was not discussed at all during the last round of the dialogue in Brussels, because Kosovo side tried to impose the issue of property and ownership over the Lake Gazivode and power sub-station Valac, what was not on the agenda at all.
This was confirmed and by the chairperson of the Serbian parliament’s committee for Kosovo and Metohija Milovan Drecun, who said in RTS TV show that Kosovo side is not respecting anything that was agreed, and reminded on the obligation for the creation of two Serbian companies for the electric energy distribution in North Mitrovica and Zubin Potok.
Belgrade has requested from Pristina and Brussels in several occasions that they should enable registration of the electricity supply company ‘Elektrodistribucija’ North – Zubin Potok, whose founder would be Serbian Energy Company (EPS), what is completely in line with the Action Plan. Creation of an electricity supply company in one of northern municipalities is also pending Pristina’s approval, along with the registration of company EPS ‘Trgovina’ North Mitrovica, for what a verbal consent was already reached.
