Blackmail of Serbia because of the money (Blic)
Money is the main motive for the formation of the Community of Albanian Municipalities (ZAO), by which Albanians are trying to blackmail the Serbian authorities, learned Blic. “The National Council of Albanians in this way wants to take as much money as possible, because the amount that Council receives from the state decreased. The criterion for allocation of money to the National Councils is the number of persons in minority communities. However, Albanians in Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja boycotted the census in 2011. It turned out that there are less people than it is and that’s how they receive less money. Under the threat for the formation of ZAO they try to get more,” - says a source close to the Serbian government.
The Office for Human and Minority Rights said that in 2015 for the work of the Albanian National Council was allocated 12.4 million dinars. They explained that in addition to the fixed part of the money from the budget, Councils receive remaining funds according to the proportion reflected in the number of persons belonging to national minorities, as well as for specific projects.
