No giving up from A/CSM (Vecernje Novosti)
Kosovo has signed the Stabilization Association Agreement as a status neutral territory. There is no place in the text where status of the south Serbian province is prejudged, and it remains in line with the UNSC Resolution 1244, said chairperson of the Serbian List, Slavko Simic, in an interview with Novosti, and added that Kosovo is quoted with an asterisk in the text what proves that it is not recognized as a state.
When asked about the meaning of adoption of the amendment of the SAA by the Kosovo parliament, which replaces asterisk with the term ‘Republic of Kosovo’, Simic explained that it was done exclusively for the internal purposes and that Serbian List did not vote for it. He further said that this amendment changes nothing in the agreement, which remained in its original form with the asterisk. Simic explained that Serbian List supported ratification of the SAA because by doing so MPs have send a message to Kosovo Albanians and the international community that they are for dialogue, cohabitation and prosperity, and added that by voting for SAA Serbian List didn’t jeopardize interests of Serbs since the SAA obliges Kosovo to respect human rights and rights of minorities.
When asked to which extent will creation of the Association/Community of Serb (A/CSM) municipalities slow down, due to Kosovo president’s request for assessment of the constitutionality of the agreement on creation of the A/CSM, Simic replied that it is all about daily political games of Kosovo Albanian politicians, and that A/CSM will be created and that there won’t be any giving up in that regard. Simic further said that Serbian side is fulfilling its commitment in the ongoing dialogue, unlike the Kosovo Albanian side.
