Rašić: A law harmful for the Serbs adopted in the Kosovo parliament (NMagazin, Blic)
Nenad Rašić, a deputy in the Kosovo Assembly, said today that for the Serbian community the Law on the Agency for comparison and verification of property is unacceptable. The law was adopted on Thursday at a session of the Kosovo parliament.
Rašić said that this regulation does not provide adequate treatment for the displaced persons, especially displaced Serbs who lived in Kosovo.
Rašić told Beta news agency that it was just one of the shortcomings of the law, which was adopted despite opposition Serbian deputies in the Kosovo Assembly.
According to him, the law does not provide for the establishment of a technical agency, which is supposed to compare maps from the cadastre - Kosovo and the original Serbian, and if the data do not match, to determine what is true in these cases.
Rašić said that the establishment of this agency has been agreed in Brussels.
- Instead, the further jurisdiction is given to the Privatization Agency of Kosovo, which alone can decide. The law provides that the agency has extended the term of the office, in this case eighteen months and during that time provides information on the question of ownership - said Rašić.
He said that the Serbian deputies were against the fact that, under the law, some of the displaced, for example, from Gjakovica/Gjakovë, where there are no Serbs, need to learn from the notice board of the municipality, whether their house, or plot is on sale.
Rašić said that and the President of the Assembly Committee on Rights and Interests of Communities and Returns, Jasmina Živković pointed out in this meeting that the draft law is not supported by the Commission, because it does not reflect what was agreed in Brussels.
