No progress in Belgrade-Pristina talks on telecommunications (media)

There was no visible progress or official statements late Wednesday following three days of this week's Belgrade-Pristina talks on telecommunications.

The Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija told Tanjug the talks addressed ways of transferring the property of Telekom Srbija to a daughter company to be established in Kosovo-Metohija under an agreement on telecommunications.

There is no deal for the time being, but there has been certain procedure-related progress, the Office said.

Also discussed were frequencies and the number of base station locations south of the Ibar River, which directly affects the company's signal coverage in Serb communities.

Belgrade's negotiating team rejected an attempt by Pristina to restrict the Serb communities to 2G technology allowing voice calls only and no internet access.

The dialogue continues on Thursday.
