Police investigate disappearance of Dayton Agreement document (Srpski Telegraf, Dnevnik, Tanjug)

The Serbian police is investigating what had happened with the original Dayton Agreement document in Serbia, who is to blame for its disappearance and whether a mere negligence or intentions were behind it, reported Serbian tabloid newspaper Srpski Telegraf.

The daily refers to its source in the police, who said it is a document of the state importance and it is important to clarify what had happened. Serbian Foreign Minister, Ivica Dacic said two days ago, that Serbia does not have the original Dayton Agreement document, and that after 5th October 2000, a paper signed by Richard Holbrook that the USA will never recognize the independence of Kosovo disappeared. “The original document of Dayton Agreement was destroyed and lost,” said Dacic, who investigated how the agreements of crucial importance for Serbia today have disappeared. “Everyone is playing a fool when I ask them and it is unthinkable that Serbia does not have the Dayton Agreement document. All Milosevic’s associates claim, and his secretary is also certain that Milosevic called her and gave her a paper, where Holbrook, at that time main negotiator between Serbia and the West and an American envoy, signed to Milosevic (during 1998 and 1999 negotiations) that America would never recognize the independence of Kosovo,” Srpski Telegraf reported, quoting Dacic. According to Dacic, the paper disappeared as everything was robbed. “There is no paper, they robbed everything. When they arrested Sloba (Slobodan Milosevic), nothing was left, said Dacic to Srpski Telegraf.
