Dacic: Western Balkan countries should advocate common interests (BETA, N1)

Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic said on Wednesday that Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia-Herzegovina should form a block and advocate for their common interests, BETA news agency reports.

“I often attend meetings across the world where we attack each other instead of supporting one another and advocating for our common interests,” Dacic told a gathering in Belgrade on promoting relations between the three former Yugoslav republics.

Dacic says visas not required for 71 countries (BETA, N1)

Serbian citizens do not need visas to travel to 71 countries and holders of diplomatic passports can travel visa-free to 93 countries Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic told the Serbian Parliament on Wednesday, BETA news agency reports.

Dacic was presenting to the Parliament proposal to abolish visas for nationals of number of other countries. He said the visa-free regime was in place for Serbian citizens travelling to all European Union countries except Great Britain and Ireland as well as Russia, China, Brazil, the Ukraine among others.

Vucic comments on allegations that Dacic might become new Serbian PM (Tanjug, B92)

There is a saying in Serbia - "Firstly jump and then say hop", not the other way around, President Aleksandar Vucic said reacting to the allegations of current Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic assuming the role of the prime minister after elections in Serbia, Tanjug news agency reports.

"Who will become the prime minister... I'm afraid that someone had jumped to conclusions... There is an old Serbian proverb - "Firstly jump, and then say hop, not the other way around", Vucic told the press.

Everything Serbia does is supported by a part of the White House administration, the part which favors a compromise between Belgrade and Pristina, Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic has said on Wednesday FoNet news agency reports.

“It is a big step forward, but whether they (those who support Belgrade) will press the rest of the Washington political elite remains to be seen. For now, the White House views on Kosovo are significantly different in comparison to those of the State Department,” Dacic added.

Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic said he would announce next week the name of the 15th state that revoked decision on recognizing Kosovo, B92 reports today.

Dacic told RTS at this moment less than 100 countries recognize Kosovo.

Commenting on the latest provocation in Kosovo and Metohija, where Kosovo flag was placed on the remains of the Orthodox Church of Saint Nikola in Novo Brdo and medieval Serbian fortress, Dacic said the international community by Resolution 1244 obliged to preserve the Serbian cultural and historical  heritage in Kosovo.

Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic told Prva TV “for Pristina authorities the Serbs are always to blame.”

Dacic added he has no information that would confirm accusations of the Kosovo FM Behgjet Pacolli who claims that diplomatic office of Pristina in Copenhagen was attacked by the Serbian citizens in Denmark.

Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic said Serbia would continue pursuing its policy resulting in revoking recognitions of Kosovo independence, adding that by doing so Serbia does not want to irritate Pristina or the international community, but simply to protect its interests, FoNet news agency reports.

Commenting on Quint states’ message to Belgrade to cease campaign for revoking recognitions of Kosovo Dacic said it indicates that (revoking of recognitions) is true and it hurts them.

Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic rejected criticism of Michael Carpenter, former adviser of US Vice President Joseph Biden, of interfering into US affairs, B92 reports. Carpenter said that Serbian Foreign Minister plans to interfere in US domestic politics.

Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic said that the US President's National Security Advisory John Bolton might visit the region in late August, B92 reports. Dacic stated there are good prospects for Bolton's visit to Serbia if there are some positive indications that Pristina might revoke the tariffs.
