Blic: Kosovo Government has no majority without Serbs (Kontakt plus Radio)
It is increasingly certain that Kosovo will finally get a government and the Serbian list undoubtedly will be a part of it. The List will support the election of the Speaker of the Parliament Kadri Veseli from the big war coalition PAN and thus the new government, today’s edition of daily Blic learns. Blic reports that in exchange for support, the Serbian List will receive a deputy prime minister and three ministerial posts.
Although this is not tied to each other, Blic's sources from Pristina explain that if a major coalition led by PDK Hashim Thaçi has a majority in parliament, it is "logical that it has it for the government".
- A definitive confirmation is awaited, whether a big coalition will have support of the leader of Alliance for New Kosovo, Behgjet Pacolli, as well as deputies Ilir Deda and Mimoza Kusari. The Serbian list is unavoidable, because without it there is no majority - the source told Blic.
Deputy Prime Minister and three ministers
- In the past government, the Serbian List had deputy prime minister and two ministers, while in this case, they should have deputy prime minister and three ministers, most likely ministries for Local Self-Government, Communities and Returns, and a new ministry should be agriculture - says Blic's source.
Two new municipalities
- The Serbs will ask to form two new municipalities. One is Prilužje-Plemetina with a Serb majority, which is now within the municipality of Vushtrri/Vučitrn. The second is Gora, with the Gorani majority.
Gorani are traditionally loyal to Serbia, one of which is a member of the Serbian List's parliamentary club. It is now under the municipality of Dragash, where the majority are ethnic Albanians and Muslims loyal to Pristina - says the Blic's source, and states that the states that the municipality of Gora existed before, but that the authorities in Pristina have "abolished it" because of loyalty to Serbia.
However, this is not all, when it comes to the demands. The same source states for daily Blic that guarantees will be required for the protection of property, the church, but also that "privatization in Serb areas cannot be without the Serbian List and Serbs."
