Djuric congratulates constitution of municipal authorities in Kosovo (Tanjug)
On the occasion of the constitutive sessions of Serb majority municipal assemblies, Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Djuric congratulated the Mayors and MA members of the Serbian List in Kosovo the beginning of their mandate and constitution of the municipal authorities, reports Tanjug.
-In the upcoming period, the Serbian List will have to justify the trust, given to them by the citizens and the state of Serbia, with a responsible attitude towards the national interests and professional management of the local ruling structures. Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija deserve that difficulties of their life in the southern province to be amortized by the perfect functioning of the Serbian local self-governments in accordance with UN Resolution 1244 and the Brussels Agreement, Djuric said in his statement.
Djuric expressed belief that the conditions of life of Serbs in Kosovo would be even better, since the Serbian self-governments would be strengthened further by the establishment of the Community of Serb Municipalities, “for which we now have the perfect conditions, since the governance in all municipalities with a Serb majority is performed by political force that is coherent programmatically and ideologically”.
Djuric reminded in his statement that it was exactly the 1700th day since Pristina took over the obligations regarding the establishment of the Association/Community of Serb Municipalities, and reminded the representatives of authorities in Pristina and the international community about the fact that the most important segment of the Brussels Agreement has not been implemented to this day, reported Tanjug news agency.
