Jevtic: Vucic's visit on time, and it calmed tensions in Kosovo (RTS)
Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo and Minister of Communities and Return Dalibor Jevtic points out that the visit of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic to Kosovo after the murder of Oliver Ivanovic was timely, as well as that it calmed tensions and brought peace.
"It was a good reaction and a decision by the president of Serbia, although difficult because of security, he immediately came to talk with everyone, with all the political representatives and the people in Kosovo," Jevtic said as a guest in the show ''Upitnik'' of the Radio Television of Serbia (RTS).
He says that most of them talked about real life, and less about politics.
He also points out that the fall of the Kosovo government and the new electoral process, would not be a solution in this situation, since it would only benefit those who want to bring unrest and to attack the Serbs.
"Every decision we make will be in the interest of stability and peace," Jevtic said.
He warns that the murder of Oliver Ivanovic is a crime that can have dangerous consequences, and that, perhaps after the 2004 pogrom, is the most difficult event for Serbs in Kosovo.
He also points that it is important for the Ivanovic family, but also for Serbia, to find out who and why killed Oliver.
Jevtic emphasizes that the murder of Ivanovic was a shock for everybody and that anyone who publicly performs should not disclose information that could further exacerbate the situation in Kosovo, such as finger-pointing and drawing conclusions, which some done.
He says that, as a member of the Kosovo government, he requested that representatives of the state of Serbia be included in the investigation, as this could contribute to reconciliation. According to Jevtic, if we are exchanging information, faster we will get a response.
"This is not an event to neither politicize nor gain cheap political points."
