Jevtic: Serbs will be a significant factor in the Kosovo Assembly (Blic)
Minister for Communities and Return in Kosovo Government Dalibor Jevtic said today that the Serbs will be a significant factor in the Kosovo Assembly and theirs position should be used to solve the problems of the Serbian community.
Kosovo's Constitutional Court will evaluate the constitutionality of the election process of the Chairperson of the Assembly of Kosovo and the decision is expected sometime mid-August, said Jevtic to Tanjug agency, stressing that he expects in September talk on the formation of Government.
- Serb deputies in the Assembly are a key factor in this process, in the sense that the voices of nine deputies within the Serbian list somewhere decided about the majority in the Assembly. In this sense, we will be a significant factor in the future and I think we should use our position, not at the expense of anyone, but only for the benefit of those who chosen us to represent them - said Jevtic.
He added that all must be done to solve problems that stand in the way of normal life of the Serbian community, but not, he says, to the detriment of anyone or any other communities living in Kosovo.
- What is happening currently within the Albanian community is that decision is to be made who will handle executive functions in Kosovo. In this sense, when it comes to the Serbian community, we will support party that can provide politically necessary majority. It is not in our interest to enter into the election process, because the electoral process prolongs the resolution of all outstanding issues - said Jevtic.
