UNMIK chief calls the authorities to investigate incidents in Kosovo (Serbian media)

UNMIK chief Zahir Tanin urged all competent authorities yesterday to step up efforts to combat impunity and bring perpetrators to justice "as a cornerstone for improving dialogue and building trust among communities."

Tanin said this on the occasion of frequent ethnically motivated incidents, Serbian media reports.

According to him, in a democratic society there is no place for intimidation and the rule of law must be valid for all.

As the statement reads, the UNMIK chief at the same time welcomed the condemnation, and statements of Kosovo leaders expressing concern over recent ethnically motivated incidents.
