Mustafa: We’re faced with new circumstances! (Gazeta Blic)
Isa Mustafa, leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), writes on his Facebook account today: “The Democratic League of Kosovo has shown its commitment to make necessary changes for good governance in the country together with the post-election coalition. There are two new circumstances that have made it difficult for the coalition to reach these objectives. First, the decision of the Constitutional Court to give only the PDK the right to nominate the Assembly Speaker. Second, the criteria set out by the President of the Republic of Kosovo, and certainly harmonized with international partners, for the new government, and this includes the majority, international partnership, dialogue and the implementation of agreements deriving from dialogue, and the inclusion of communities and the Serbian List in the government. The coalition, except for Vetevendosje, has pledged to vote in favor of the PDK candidate for Assembly Speaker, in order to pave way to the formation of the Assembly. We are also interested to implement other issues in line with the policies of our country, in the Assembly and with the vote of the majority. The LDK remains consequent vis-à-vis its partners, but new moments have brought about the need for a new approach so that Kosovo can have the Assembly and the Government in the next couple of days. In the next two days, the LDK will hold internal high-level meetings and will make its decision so that our country can have its democratic institutions as soon as possible”.
