Kosovo’s Minister of Justice, Hajredin Kuci, today participated in the closing conference of the Project Against Economic Crime in Kosovo - PECK, where it was launched an evaluation report on compliance with international standards in the field of combating money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism.
Kuci talking about the importance of this project, said that PECK, has been one of the most important projects that have been implemented in Kosovo. Kuci said that the fight against corruption, money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism, is a difficult and challenging process. “In our commitment so far, we have taken the first steps to create legal prerequisites and resources to combat these phenomena,” Kuci said.
Regarding the published report, Kuci said that concrete measures will be taken on the recommendations contained in this report. "We have noticed that in general terms of legislation, namely the Criminal Code and Criminal Procedure Code and other related laws, the report pointed out that these acts generally comply with European standards. However, we have accepted and will accept the recommendations within the project aimed at improving the legal framework, particularly in those provisions which for various reasons, have faced difficulties in their implementation in practice," Kuci said.
