Haradinaj: No political crisis in Kosovo (RTK)
PAN coalition’s candidate for prime minister and leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj, said in an interview to RTK that Kosovo has not entered a political crisis. He said it is too soon for other parties to plan forming the new government as PAN has not yet failed in doing so. “They have nothing to be afraid of. Let us first see if PAN fails and then they can take over. But they know that a Haradinaj government will happen, it is unavoidable and hence problems with Assembly speaker”, Haradinaj said. He added that Kadri Veseli is a serious candidate for Assembly speaker. “I call on MPs not to delay processes and vote the speaker”.
Mustafa: PAN is playing with Kosovo (Koha)
In an interview to KTV, leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Isa Mustafa said it is irresponsible on the part of PAN coalition to not take part in Kosovo Assembly’s constitutive session. “These are PAN’s games but not with 120 MPs but with the whole of Kosovo”, Mustafa said. He added that the next session of the Assembly needs to be convened as soon as possible blaming primarily the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) for delaying forming new institutions. Speaking about PDK leader Kadri Veseli, Mustafa said he was an “amateur”. “He has no clue about leadership”, Mustafa said of Veseli. “When my students fail exams they don’t say ‘I made a sacrifice by failing’ but say ‘I didn’t pass because I knew no better’”, Mustafa noted.
“Hoxhaj or Krasniqi candidate for Assembly speaker” (Zeri)
Deputy leaders of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Enver Hoxhaj and Memli Krasniqi, are being considered as potential candidates for the post of Assembly speaker in case Kadri Veseli steps down, the paper quotes sources as saying. Asked to comment, Krasniqi said he has nothing to add apart to the official stance of the PDK.
PDK: Parties to leave aside personal interests (Telegrafi)
In a statement to the media yesterday, the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) said it stands ready to cooperate with other parties to avoid a possible political crisis but that it will not allow undermining the democratic character of Kosovo institutions. “The Democratic Party of Kosovo was never guided by a blocking mindset and has made concessions many times for the sake of preserving the unity and interest of our society and our country”, the statement reads. The party says it has made an offer that is aimed at creating new institutions as quickly as possible and called on other parties to leave aside party interests and personal egos and contribute to building new institutions.
