Serbian Government allows Americans to invest in “Trepca” (Koha Ditore)

Serbia’s Minister of Nature Resources and Space Planning, Milan Bacevic, signed an international agreement on Friday on behalf of Trpca, in the northern part of Kosovo. Serbian media reported that the agreement was signed between Serbian authorities and the U.S. consortium “New Generation Power.”

“The feasibility study for investments in Trepca will be drafted based on this agreement,” reported B92 on Friday, while Serbian Minister Bacevic, was quoted saying that investments in Trepca will improve the position of Serbs in Kosovo. This daily reports that the Kosovo Privatisation Agency, does not want to comment on this interference from Serbia, with the justification that they have not received any official information.

Kuci: Power of PMs required for implementation plan (Tribuna)

Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hajredin Kuci, stated that in order to reach the agreement on the implementation plan of the Brussels Agreement reached between Pristina and Belgrade, political power is required, in this case, that of the Prime Ministers. “I am convinced that the Prime Ministers are the most senior level and the highest point for the reach of the agreement. If they do not reach it, I do not know who would,” said Kuci. He added that both parties are willing to reach the agreement.

Closer positions but no agreement in Brussels (Koha Ditore)

Another round of technical discussions between Pristina and Belgrade was held on Friday in Brussels. The meeting of the technical teams, represented by Deputy Prime Minister Edita Tahiri and the chief of the Serbian team Dejan Pavicevic, ended without any concrete agreement. “Nothing concrete was reached for now, however there was progress and I consider that it is possible to reach an agreement, however there are still some issues that have to be discussed,” said Pavicevic.

Mustafa: Reciprocal rights for Presevo Valley (dailies)

The leader of the Kosovo opposition, Isa Mustafa, said on Friday that he supports the requests of the political leaders in Presevo Valley for the Albanians to have reciprocal rights with Serbs in Kosovo.  The Leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo made these comments after meeting the leaders of Presevo Valley, Riza Halimi, Galip Beqiri, Rahmi Zylfiu, Shaip Kamberi, and Nehat Hyseni. Mustafa said that after the conclusion of the discussions between Kosovo and Serbia, another round of discussions for the rights of Albanians in Presevo Valley should start.

Kosovo is not invited at Ohrid Summit (dailies)

There are serious chances that Kosovo will not participate at the 16^th Summit of the Process of Cooperation of South-Eastern Europe, which will be held in Ohrid on 1 June. Macedonia’s President Djordje Ivanov, who will host this meeting, has not sent an invitation to Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga or to Prime Minister Hashim Thaci. Epoka e Re has learned that Serbia’s President Tomislav Nikolic and the UN General Assembly Chairperson, Vuk Jeremic, will be participating at the Summit.

Kosovo organizes “Morning Prayers” (Epoka e Re)

The Republic of Kosovo, will organize “The Morning Prayers” or “The week of tolerance” in Pristina, from 24 to 26 May. At this manifestation, organised under the patronage of the Assembly of Kosovo, headed by the Chief of the Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Adem Grabovci, 70 personalities and representatives of different countries of the world, including the U.S., Germany, Great Britain, Turkey, Switzerland, Israel, Jordan, Thailand, Albania, Greece, Serbia, and Romania will participate.
