Mustafa: The start for implementation of the SAA, a new chapter of development (Koha)
On the occasion of the start of the implementation of the Stabilization Association Agreement, the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa said that this is a new chapter for the development of Kosovo.
“Today a new chapter of development is starting for the Republic of Kosovo, after the signing of the Stabilization Association Agreement on 27 October of the last year, today Kosovo is moving to another phase of the political, social and economic development. At this moment, we are starting to officially implement the SAA, therefore this day was awaited and it will be marked in the history of Kosovo’s development.” Mustafa said. He added further that Kosovo is setting the grounds of contractual relations with the European Union, which conditions reciprocal rights and obligations in a wide specter of sections, including respecting of the democratic principles, implementation of European trade standards, competition, state of law, general and intellectual property.”
According to him, from today the customs tariff barriers and limitations on quantity and value will be removed. Therefore Kosovo companies will be able to export their products with much lower costs, compare to those that they operated with until now, and without administrative barriers. “I have reason to believe that after the successful fulfillment of criteria and recommendations requested from us for visa liberalization, the time for implementation of this act will come very soon, in the same manner that the time for SAA came,” Mustafa said.
