All sessions on Azem Syla's case annulled (media)
EULEX failed once again with regards to the special investigation on the case of Azem Syla and the others. According to Syla’s lawyer, Tomë Gashi, all announced sessions for 6, 7 and 8 July 2016 are annulled.
“EULEX does not give any explanation for these postponements but it is known that EULEX still does not have a mandate in Kosovo. EULEX should hand over all the cases to the local judges and prosecutors, because nowhere in the world the missions of the rule of law keep the cases in their drawers,” Gashi wrote on his Facebook page.
“EULEX is here to teach or impose the regulations of rule of law, but we are advising EULEX, being that it does not have a mandate to act, to hand over the cases to the judges and prosecutors of Kosovo state, especially when EULEX’s suspects such as Azem Syla and the others are on detention. The first rule of justice is that when you cannot act on your own, allow the others to act on interest of justice,” Gashi wrote.
