President Thaci calls for political unity on visa liberalization (RTK)
The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, hosted today a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Montenegro, Dusko Markovic. He expressed appreciation for Montenegro’s support and PM’s visit on the verge of the tenth jubilee of independence.
Thaci and Markovic discussed bilateral relations, current political situation in the region as well as European perspective.
Thaci stressed that relations between Kosovo and Montenegro are excellent, and requested their expansion in the fields of economy, education and culture.
They also discussed the necessity of speedy ratification of the demarcation agreement between Kosovo and Montenegro.
“I call for a political unity in Kosovo in order to ratify the demarcation agreement with Montenegro, to open way to visa liberalization. This would have been the most beautiful present for Kosovo citizens in the tenth jubilee of independence,” Thaci said.
Markovic on the other hand said Montenegro will continue support for Kosovo and it will deepen further inter-state cooperation. “We will work closely in order to accomplish our joint interest of EU membership,” Markovic said.
Thaci stressed that Montenegro’s membership at NATO will contribute to long-term peace and stability in Balkans.
